Toubro & Larsen (L&T) has been instrumental in transforming Dholera into India's first smart green facility. According to a recent case study by Crisan, a product marketing manager at Bentley Systems who specializes in civil design engineering solutions, Dholera has undergone a significant transformation. Bentley's Open Applications for roadway and utility works have not only sped up project schedules by 10 percent but also saved INR 10 million in costs.Within the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor, the Dholera Special Investment Region, tucked away 100 kilometers southwest of Ahmedabad, shines as a symbol of development, ready to grow into a major international hub for manufacturing and trade. This project, which covers an area of 920 square kilometers, represents India's entry into the building of greenfield smart cities, which are defined by sophisticated utilities, intelligent infrastructure, seamless communication, and cutting-edge technology.

In addition to providing a sophisticated 174.25-km highway network, Larsen & Toubro is in charge of utilities works covering a sizable 57 square kilometre region. The complexity of creating contemporary infrastructure to facilitate intelligent city growth is highlighted by Rajesh Kumar, Head of Digital at Larsen & Toubro, who also emphasizes the integration of many utility services inside the roadway reserves.
According to Dr. Kumar, "services and utilities running within the roadway reserves include power duct, ICT duct, SCADA, and street lighting, in addition to portable water, sewer, industrial effluent, and recycle water networks."
