Gujarat: Tata Power commissions 300 MW solar plant in Dholera
The 300 MW Solar Plant project at Dholera was commissioned on Monday by Tata Power Renewables, a subsidiary of Tata Power. The company said that 774 million units will be produced every year by this project and there will be a reduction in carbon emissions by 7.04 lakh metric tonnes every year. The plant commissioned by Tata is the largest single axis solar tracker system in the country.
The project started by the company is spread over 1320 acres, which is divided into 6 different plots of 220 acres. Talking about this, Praveer Sinha, CEO and MD, Tata Power, said that this project will further strengthen his position in the solar EPC space with his technical expertise and project execution skills and will be instrumental in driving the growth of renewable energy in India.
With a new capacity addition, Tata Power will have an operational capacity of 3,400 MW with 2,468 MW of solar and 932 MW of wind. Tata Power has a total renewable capacity of 5,020 MW, which includes 1,620 MW of renewable projects under various stages of implementation.
